Dalton and Sophie's Mommy

Friday, February 12, 2010

Dalton is asking just about daily now when his little brother or sister is going to be here. The conversation goes like this

"Mommy how many more years until our baby gets out"
"We've still got about little over 6 more months honey"
" It's getting closer though isn't it mommy"
" Yep it's getting closer everyday but it's still going to be awhile"

I bet it does feel like years to him and honestly it's kind of feeling like years to me too. It's like I count down the days til the next week milestone. I hope everyone is right that the pregnancy goes a lot quicker with number two. There is a lot I need to do before this little one arrives but I'm sure I'll put it off to the last minute like I tend to do with everything else :) I am a master procrastinator after all!!! One thing that has been a sigh of relief is that we really don't have anything to buy before this little one arrives. I mean we'll need girl clothes if it happens to be a girl but I'm sure the grandparents will have a handle on that! :) Right mom? :)

In other news thank you all for your prayers for my grandpa. He was released from the hospital yesterday and still has to be on oxygen but I know that actually being home will help him heal faster! We love you panpa!

We have another morning of Dalton's basketball practice tomorrow. I still need to blog about last weekends first practice...we'll see if tomorrow turns out just as embarrasing...let's just say the athletic genes didn't even come out at all because our shy little stubborn boy just wouldn't stay on the court :( Rocky thinks we're going to have a huge little girl someday that is awesome in sports and Dalton will still be a little shrimp. Doesn't matter to me I'll love them both no matter what.

Have a great weekend!

I've been dying to tell you

How original is that right? Anywho....We're having a BABY!!!! It's been killing me not spilling the beans but after our miscarriage last fall...we hadn't even told our parents yet. So mee-mow as it's brother is calling it (think it's supposed to be nemo) is due late August. We had an ultrasound today at 11 weeks 1 day and everything is looking great so far. Baby was just bouncing around like crazy in there :) Dalton is beyond excited! We didn't tell him until today...he went with us and stared in awe of his little brother or sister (and now we won't be finding out the sex). So with out futher ado....here is baby mee-mow!

Just asking for some prayers

My Grandpa was admitted into the hospital on Tuesday with what they thought was pneumonia now it could possibly be H1N1. As if that isn't enough for one person he's also been having chemo treatments for colon cancer meaning his immune system is already really weak. He only has 4 treatments left which they've said they will put off until this infection gets taken care of. We're not able to go see him because we CAN'T have anyone in our house getting sick right now. I did get to talk to him yesterday and he sounded like his spirits are up. It just worries the heck out of me. He is the best grandpa anyone could ever ask for! He has been the #1 man in my life my entire life (until Rocky and Dalton). Tell me how many grandpa's would lay in bed with their 2 year old grand-daughter and listen to Michael Jackson tapes...that's what I thought!

So if you pray...please say a little prayer for gramps and our family if you don't mind.

Some changes round here...

Did you notice? Yes I took off those ads on the side of my page. Truth is they've been up there for like a year and I haven't received one check and it was just taking up space. I don't really blog often enough to make money off of it and I'm fine with that...it was just a hip thing I decided to try and join in on. So there it's gone.

My son is seriously testing my patience the past two weeks with his bed time routine! He has ALWAYS been great about getting put to bed. The kid started sleeping through the night at 3 months...and has pretty much not been one to get out of his bed after we tucked him since he's been in his big boy bed at almost 2. But the last two weeks have been a different story...sure we've had a night here or there when he called from his bed for a sip of water or needing to go to the bathroom after he's laid down but nothing like this. It's a constant battle to keep him in bed. Last night he would try sneaking out and sitting by the living room door way and watch tv. I'm trying the super nanny approach of just leading him back in to his room and putting him back into bed without saying a word. His dad on the other hand is a softy and gives him hugs talks to him lays there with him a minutes. ugh why must I be the bad guy :( Hopefully the phase ends soon. We'll see...tonight I teach aerobics until 8:30 so we'll see if he's in bed or not when I get home.

Speaking of that adorable little man...he start Rec Center instructional basketball this Saturday. We're so excited!!! Well I am Rocky's just hoping he's passed on some of his athletic ability to Dalton. Fingers crossed this goes well for our shy little man!
