New Years Resolutions

Ok...2009 has got to be the year of change for me...Here is the list.

1.) Lose these stinking 30 pounds. Not just for my health but for my son to have an active mom...for my husband to have an attractive wife.

Do you want to lose weight too? Join me at my new blog We'll lose it together. Enjoy posts from some of my friends about their weight loss and how they have kept it off. Wanna share your Weight Loss story too? Email me at daltons.mommy@yahoo.com

2.) Keeping my house clean...instead of utter Chaos all the time. How will I do this? With the help of Flylady of course. Last summer I actually started the process but then it just went out the window. I hate doing weekend cleaning extravaganzas. I don't want to have to dread if somebody drops by! This resolution includes getting the hubby and 3 year old son to pick up after themselves too!

3.) Saving money AGAIN!!!! Christmas just did me in!!! I'm so thankfull that my husband and I have seperate accounts. He would die if he saw how much we spent on Christmas and Birthdays in December and January. I already have my new budget in place now it's sticking with it!

4.) Being a better friend. Since becoming a parent I haven't been the best at picking up the phone and calling my friends and family. Somehow I need to make time for that again!

Good luck with those New Years Resolutions!!! Don't forget to join me on the weight loss blog!

Christmas Recap...

Before I forget...I need to present our Christmas Recap.

This year it was spread out a little which made it a little easier on the little man. He got to play with his new toys before moving on the unwrap new ones which was great! Friday the 19th we had Christmas at my Dad's House. Dalton had a blast playing with his cousin Tabrie...she is 4 weeks younger than him.
Tabries is quite the photographer
She got a new camera and took pictures of all of his cars that he got for Christmas. Dad and Denise of which are our Harley Parents...got us lots of awesome Harley apparel and now I'm itching to ride.

Sunday we spent the day at Rocky's parents house. Dalton had seen the big box his present was in and had asked about it before and his Aunt Michele had told him it was hers...but man was he happy when he got to open it and found a John Deere Gator inside. I might mention that it was 4 degrees outside that day but we all bundled up for abouot 10 minutes so he could ride it around.
We only stayed out a minute...it was 5 degrees!

Then on Christmas eve we spent the evening at my mom and step dad's house. Again another great night with them my sister and brother and grandparents! Dalton and mom played tic tac toe and I'm pretty sure Dalton was cheating cause he won everytime :) He wanted to open every present and play with it right then and there.

When we got home that night...he was getting a little crabby...we were trying to coax him into being happy and telling him that we had to get cookies and milk ready for Santa when he said the cutest quote of all Christmas "I have enough presents" LOL! Don't worry he had no problem opening presents Christmas morning and was thrilled that Santa had brought him a motorcycle Big Wheel. I haven't had time to get those pictures uploaded yet! I wanted to get this post done before I start my New Years Resolution Post.

Hope you all had a great Christmas!

I donated blood for the first time...and only about fainted twice!

Let me start off by saying that donating blood and having some blood work tests drawn are entirely two different things...AND just because you have gone through natural childbirth ONCE doesn't make you abstained from pain.

Now on to the rest of the story!

I have been talking about donating blood for at least two years. My boss donates a couple of times a year and I always tell him that I would like to go with him sometime. I work at a small town radio station and today during my show the news guy was doing a story about blood shortages at the blood bank and that there was a blood drive at our local hospital. So I get some balls out of nowhere and decide I will go donate during lunch. It is the season of giving after all.

Get there no line really, get my finger pricked to check my iron and my level is .1 too low. Seriously...I'm off the hook? They tell me they can check the other hand and I'm thinking like that is going to make a difference...but it did. It was .8 higher than they other hand...so now I go drink my bottle of water and get ready for my turn.

I finally get called to the chair and sit for like 30 minutes waiting to get stuck. Finally they stick the needle in but what...have to reajusdt. (I should have told them my veins are tricky) Then get the blood going...I'm squeezing the ball bloods just going through the tube. The lady says "you feeling good"...I'm like "yeah" then she says "the fastest flow is 9 and you're rolling good at 9" Then all of a sudden I start getting light headed "uh ma'am I'm light headed" So they lay me back...put some cold compresses on me and like two seconds later they've got all the blood they need from me. I filled that bag in 7 minutes...7 MINUTES! Anyway sit me up...i'm drinking water and then all of a sudden the dizyness and light headedness strikes again!

Needless to say between waiting and feeling like fainting it took me 2 hours to donate blood. Will I do it again? Absolutely!!!

Wow this is like my longest post ever! Merry Christmas Eve Eve!

Not Me Monday...

I've seen so many people using this idea from MckMama's blog and have finally decided to join in the fun soooo here it goes....

I did not make it through last week by only thinking about the fun Christmas times we were gonna have at my dad and step mom's house and at Rocky's parents house. We were not going to have any fun!! I was not more excited about opening presents than my almost 3 year old son...nope not me I hate receiving gifts. I did not trick my son into believing that when he woke up at 6 am yesterday morning that it was still the middle of the night and got him to sleep in past 8 am. I did not bribe my son to not want to drive his new John Deere Gator outside in the 5 degree weather because I was cold even though he was all bundled up. I did not suck it up and let him drive it for about 10 minutes in 5 degree weather...with probably at negative windchill.

I am not looking forward the the smile on my son's eyes this Christmas morning when we realizes probably for the first time what believing in Santa really means. I will not take a thousand pictures and post them on myspace...facebook and my blog.

Oh by the way I am not working on a new blog for my new year resolution. I do not believe in making a change.

It's Here It's Here Christmas is here...

Tonight we start Christmas with my dad his girlfriend and her kids and grand-daughter who is just a few weeks younger than Dalton. I'm so excited!!! I love Christmas time and time with the family.

Thankfully I was able to get the tooth fixed this morning so that means I will not mind if I get in some Christmas pictures :)

Did I mention all of our snow melted over night? Yeppers...it was 50 degrees at 1 a.m. and when I went to leave for work at 7:30 walked out and all of the snow was gone the temp was back down to 30 though. We are suppossed to have a very cold weekend. Tomorrows low is 0 with a wind chill of -4 to -14...burr!

Have a great weekend. Becareful with all of your holiday travels.

It's been one HOLE of a week......

Can I tell you how many holes I have had this week...

Ok...Sunday at the store...walk out and there is a shopping cart on the side of my car...did I mention how windy it was here Sunday...like 40 mph wind gusts! Anyway hole number one in the paint of my car!!!

Monday went to the dentist to get some fillings cleaned up...wait for it....

Last night sitting on the couch talking on the phone look down and realize I have a hole in my favorite pair of jeans. My FAVORITE Pair of SILVER JEANS...My last pair of SILVER JEANS...Ok...so I've been wearing them forever and yes they were getting thin but right now I can't afford a $70 pair of jeans!!!

Then after the jeans had me bummed out...I'm flossing my teeth and out pops the filling on my front eye tooth and so now there is hole number 3! So here's where I stand...the dentist office is closed today. I have a helluva day tomorrow plus Christmas at my dad's tomorrow night...but I have to get this tooth fixed. So instead of slacking off right now I should be working huh?

Hope you're day is going better than mine...No more holes this week!!!!!!!

How many Calories!!!!

It's no secret that I want to lose some lb's...I'm thinking 15 to 20 to 30. I'm starting with 5! Anyway it is the holiday season for petes sake so therefor yummy holiday food is all around us. This Saturday as a matter of fact my friend Shannon and I are having a candy making day with our kiddos. ...Ok so I want to make those yummy Oreo Balls! Man they are so good. So I go online to get the recipe to start my grocery list and low and behold they have the recipe and nutritional value (or not so nutritional value). Can you believe these babies have 163 Calories per 1 ball!!!!! Yikes!!!! Here's the recipe in case you would like to spend all of your lunch calories on one piece of chocolate....

40 truffles (approximately)

Ingredients

* 1 lb Oreo cookies (3 sleeves)
* 8 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
* 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (using different extracts allows for subtle flavour changes...I've used mint extract, upped to 1 tsp) (optional)
* 1 lb milk chocolate
* 1/2 lb white chocolate

Directions

Using a food processor, grind cookies to a fine powder.

With a mixer, blend cookie powder, cream cheese and vanilla extract until thoroughly mixed (there should be no white traces of cream cheese).

Roll into small balls and place on wax-lined cookie sheet.

Refrigerate for 45 minutes.

Line two cookie sheets with wax paper.

In double-boiler, melt milk chocolate.

Dip balls and coat thoroughly.

With slotted spoon, lift balls out of chocolate and let excess chocolate drip off.

Place on wax-paper-lined cookie sheet.

In separate double boiler, melt white chocolate.

Using a fork, drizzle white chocolate over balls.

Let cool.

Store in airtight container, in refrigerator

Yay! It's Sex And The City Night!!!

Have you seen it? What did you think? My girls and I are doing girls night tonight...Sex in the City Style. We will be having the SATC girls signature drinks watching the movie and learning to do the cha-cha. Yay for mommies who get the night off! Not once shall anyone mention our hubbies...children...or work. It's all about us tonight! Yes I am being selfish!

My son is probably going to throw one of his massive fits when I leave however. Last night I taught my first aerobics class in two weeks and he stayed home with daddy but started throwing one of these tantrums and bit his dad because I left. However I do have a plan. Bribery! Yep I'm not opposed to it. He is really into playing "games" now...so just as I'm about to leave he and daddy are gonna get a new special game and popcorn to play on daddy son night at home. Hopefully it works. Or else I could spend the whole evening feeling bad.

I truly believe that every mommy and daddy needs a little night away every once in a while from each other and the kids. This is our second girls night and after the first one I felt a little hung over yes but totally re-energized with my family!

TGIF!! Hope it's a great one!

I want comments people!

So I know a few of my family and close friends might read this blog every once in a while but without comments I don't know if anyone is reading people! So yesterday I was reading one of my fav blogs I Used to Be Witty and read about about SITS and thought I wanna do that do! So if you read my blog post a comment or join me playing SITS!

Santa uses Coupons!!!!

Hehehe! This morning Dalton and I were watching TV eating our oatmeal when a commercial came on with Santa shopping in a big box store near our town. Dalton says "There's Santa Claus" then Santa holds up some gift cards and Dalton says "He has coupons"! Can you tell I have a little coupon helper. He always takes his own coupons with him when we go shopping. Too cute!

By the way one month from today...my little man...will...be...three. Ugh. Time is flying so fast. He is such a person these days. I love being able to have conversations with him.

What I do not love is that he has his mommy and daddy's combined hard-headedness and tempers. Not a good combination. In all honesty he is a sweet loving kid...but he can be a pill too! Terrible twos are almost over. Terrific threes are next! Right??

See ya 'round double chin!!!

Ugh...so we got the family pictures taken tonight and they SUCK! No thanks to having to wait for an hour even after I had made an appointment...yep that's how late they were running as always! Next year family Christmas pictures in October!!! Anyway...they also sucked because of this stupid double chin. I so need to lose some lb's! That's like the understatement of the year. I long for that body I had 30 pounds ago when Rocky and I first started dating. Then I thought I looked fat...now I know I looked damn good!! So please send my your support. I have to do this for me and my family. I'm gonna try it 5 lbs at a time! Wish Me Luck!

The Beautiful Chaos...

So I'm trying out my new toy....but I'm not really sure I appreciate the low quality :( Tell me what you think...should I take it back.

Here's my boys doing what the do everyday...it chase time :)
Beautiful Chaos

P.S. Made the appointment for family pictures today...getting them done tomorrow and Wally world isn't as cheap as it used to be...so dear hubby put that in your pipe and smoke it. They will be here by December 15 just in time to mail out Christmas cards!

Are we the only family...

That hasn't gotten their family Christmas picture taken yet? I was checking out my friend Alli's beautiful family and their pictures earlier today and decided...we must get them done. I've been putting it off thinking that maybe just maybe I might lose some damn weight...but I don't see that happening anytime soon :( !!! I do this to myself every.single.year! So Hopefully will will have them done by the end of the week. Because we generally just go to wally-world cause my hubby refuses to spend good money on pictures...which is why I take Dalton by myself to the more quality places for his birthday shots. Every year we have a huge mess with wally-world but Rocky says the price is right...Oh well...just rambling now. Look for those pic's soon.

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving~I know everyone is probably blogging away about what they're thankful for this year and yes well I am going to follow this trend so here we go :)

1.) I am thankful that I get to be the mom to as my husband puts it "the coolest little boy in the world". I can't even remember what life was like without him in it. I treasure everyday the love and happiness he brings to Rocky and I. He's growing so fast!!! Thank you Dalton for making my days brighter...kisses sweeter and playing cars the best part of my day.

2.) I am thankful that I have a wonderful husband who always thinks about his family first. ALWAYS! Sometimes I take you for granted!!! Trust Me I Do!!! Thank you for the love we have shared for 8 1/2 years. You're my best friend and you complete my world!

3.) I am thankful for my crazy...but wonderful family. Yes ALL of you! I know we don't get to see each other as ofter as we'd all like but always know that you're always in my thoughts and prayers.

4.) I am thankful that I got to spend 8 1/2 years with the first woman of Rocky's life. Twister our dog who recently passed away. I miss your kisses in all their slobbery mess. I know you thought you were human and we did too. The love you gave will never be replaced.

5.) I am thankful for my Job as I enter into my 11th year!!!

6.) I am thankful for Myspace...yes...I said myspace...I have been able to re-connect with so many old friends through Myspace.

7.) I am thankful that I get to hang out my girls! I'm so excited for girls nights and I truly believe every mother and wife needs to remember that she can still be herself every once in a while.

8.) I am thankful for my bestie Kriste...yes we live 6 hours away from each other...but every since that friendship began in the 5th grade we have always had that connection and nobody will every understand it. Ya you remember that Thanksgiving break during our senior year...I'm glad I had that traumatic experience on the highway with you. You're the only person who really gets me!

9.) I am thankful for having a nice house to call my home. Yes it may not be as big or as decorated as I dreamed...but it's ours and it brings my little family all the room to be together that we need.

10.) And lastly I am thankful for my faith. We haven't gone to church very often this year and yes there are a million excuses I could give...but I'll keep that to myself. As well start into this holiday season let us all remember the true meaning of Christmas.

Happy Thanksgiving from my family.

Twister Evans...RIP

This is so hard for me to write...Our beloved dog Twister passed away in the middle of the night between Monday and Tuesday this week. She was 18 years old and Rocky has had her since he was 10 and she was 6 months old. She was not a dog...she was a real human person in our family. While Rocky has stories that date way back futher than when I was ever around...I can only write about my love for her in the 8 1/2 years that I spent with her.

I remember when she first moved in with us. She had been used to living in the country at Rocky's parents house, the first week she lived with us...we had let her stay outside all day and when we got home she was nowhere to be found. We thought we had lost her forever. Then she just showed back up and from that day forward we never let her out of our sight again.

This is where my strong bond with Twister began. I always would take her for her walks...we would race each other and at that time she would always win. Her kisses were the most slobbery kisses and while most people would say how gross...not me...I always wanted more. She always slept in our bed!!! That was her one bad habit. She never peed in the house or tore up anything...she just liked to sleep in bed with us and we loved it too.

When I was pregnant with Dalton every day during lunch I would come home and Twister and I would lay on the couch and watch our soap's together. I think she was the first to feel him kick! When we brought him home from the hospital she was so curious of this little boy but took him in as her own.

Her loves were Rocky...Me and Dalton...Sausage Gravy...barking at the mail man...laying in the sunshine...having right behind her ear scratch...kisses and more kisses...cuddling...rides in the truck and walks.

Luckily this weekend I had made gravy...she got to bark at the mail man...I slept on the couch with her...and Rocky and Dalton spent the whole day at home with her on Monday.

We didn't expect at all that she would leave us this soon...yes i know she was 18 but we just figured we would have a little warning...but we didn't see it coming. Tuesday morning Rocky found her asleep forever in our living room in one of her favorite places.

I know I could go on and on and on forever talking about her. But I can no longer see the computer screen through my tears. She will always hold a portion of my heart.

Twister Evans RIP 11-18-2008

Why or Why Does He Have To Grow Up?

Dalton is just the pride and joy of my life and I make myself crazy thinking about him growing up. It's happening way too fast!!!! It's no secret that he could very well be the only offspring of ours (unless somebody can foot us $250 a week for daycare...please) which is why I am trying to treasure every minute...even the not so wonderful...I have a screaming naughty toddler ones. Anywho last night listening to Trace Adkins performing "You're Gonna Miss This" on the CMA'S just made my heart melt and brought tears to my eyes. I just wonder now how my parents and grandparents feel watching their children raising children. Ok...enough blubbering now...here's a couple of cute pictures of my cowboy from Halloween with cousins Tabrie and Landon since I haven't posted them yet.
